Qatar Business Class to London - And You Won't Believe the Price
Sometimes a deal lands in the data and I have to do a double-take. This week, that deal is Qatar Airways Business Class from Doha to London for just 42,500 Avios at off-peak rates. That's a genuinely excellent number for one of the most consistently top-rated business class products in the sky.
We've also got 12 hotel redemptions across Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, and IHG this week - including a Hyatt property in the Maldives that's hitting an absurd 9.3 cents per point in value. More on that below. Let's get into it.
Miles & Points Trivia
Before we dive in, here's a quick question related to this week's deals. No Googling!
Qatar Airways is a member of which airline alliance?
A) Star Alliance
B) SkyTeam
C) Oneworld
D) None - Qatar flies independently
The answer is at the bottom of today's newsletter - keep scrolling!
🚨 Deal of the Week: Qatar Airways Business Class, Doha to London for 42,500 Points
Route: Doha (DOH) to London (LHR/LGW) on Qatar Airways - Business Class (Qsuites)
Points: Just 42,500 Avios one-way at off-peak rates (peak pricing kicks in at 55,000 Avios)
Available dates: Apr 1, 2, 3 (next week) and Apr 7 and Apr 8 (around Easter week)
Availability is currently showing as Medium - which means it's there, but it won't last forever. If these dates work for you, move quickly.
Why is this such a strong deal? Qatar's Qsuites product is routinely voted the world's best business class. You're getting a fully lie-flat private suite with sliding door panels, direct aisle access, and some of the best inflight catering in the sky. Booking that experience for 42,500 points on the off-peak chart is a genuine sweet spot - especially since peak pricing jumps to 55,000 Avios, a 29% premium.
The Doha to London leg is roughly 6 hours and 30 minutes, so it's a short enough flight to enjoy every minute of the experience without arriving completely out of sync.
How to book: Search on the British Airways Executive Club website or app using Avios. You can also book through Qatar's own Privilege Club programme if you hold Avios there. Transfer points from American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, or Citi ThankYou to British Airways Avios before searching. ✈️ Economy Deals: Departing from the Middle East
Not ready for business class yet? The same Doha to London route has excellent economy availability too.
Doha (DOH) to London (LHR) - Qatar Airways - Economy Class
Points: 20,000 Avios one-way (off-peak) - peak rate is 30,000 Avios
Dates: Apr 1, Apr 2, Apr 3 (next week) and Apr 7, Apr 8 (around Easter)
Availability: High - plenty of seats showing
Pricing tier: Off-peak
At 20,000 Avios for economy, this is solid off-peak redemption value on one of the best economy products in the Middle East. Qatar's economy cabin is genuinely comfortable, and if you're connecting through Doha on a longer trip, this segment pairs nicely with a longer-haul leg.
Sometimes cash can win over points on shorter routes - Friday Flight Deals tracks the cheapest cash fares out of the UK and US each week, so it's worth a quick comparison before you pull the trigger on points.
🏨 Featured Hotel Redemption: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa
This one is genuinely hard to ignore. The Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa is sitting at 9.3 cents per point in value - that's exceptional by any measure, and one of the best hotel redemptions we've seen across any programme in recent memory.
Hotel: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa
Location: Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Maldives
Points per night: ~30,000 World of Hyatt points
Value: 9.3 cents per point
Programme: World of Hyatt
The Hadahaa property sits in the southern atolls, far from the busier tourist areas around Male. It's more remote, more exclusive, and the overwater villas are genuinely stunning. At 30,000 Hyatt points per night, you're unlocking cash rates that would otherwise cost several hundred dollars. And if you can stack a 5th night free on a longer stay, the value compounds quickly.
Speaking of Hyatt - the Amex Offer doing the rounds right now (spend $300, get $75 back) is worth combining here if you're paying cash for any extras on property. More details in the news section below.
