If You've Been Waiting for a Reason to Redeem...

This is the week. We've got First Class transatlantic availability at off-peak rates, Business Class to Chicago priced below the standard peak chart, and a Hyatt redemption that's legitimately one of the best value hotel deals I've seen in a while. On top of that, several transfer bonuses are expiring in the next few days - including a 30% Capital One to JAL bonus and a 20% Chase to Aeroplan bonus, both ending April 30.

There's a lot to get through today, so let's dive straight in. Scroll all the way to the bottom for the trivia answer and a few quick questions I'd love your thoughts on.

Miles & Points Trivia

Here's your trivia question for this week - see if you can get it right before scrolling to the bottom!

Which Hyatt property in today's newsletter offers the highest value redemption at approximately 8.5 cents per point?

  • A) Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, Nassau

  • B) Alila Ventana Big Sur, California

  • C) Hyatt House at Anaheim Resort / Convention Center

  • D) Park Hyatt Tokyo

The answer is revealed near the bottom of today's newsletter - keep reading!

🚨 Deal of the Week: London to New York in First Class for 68,000 Points

Route: London (LHR) to New York (JFK) - British Airways First Class

Points required: 68,000 Avios one-way (off-peak pricing)

Available date: May 19 (Tuesday) - Low availability, so move fast

Value: Approximately 4.5-5cpp depending on the cash fare equivalent

Here's why this matters. British Airways First Class on the transatlantic is the Club Suite but in a true nose-of-the-plane experience - doors, a proper bed, and the full First dining service. The standard peak rate for this route is 80,000 Avios, so getting it at the off-peak 68,000 rate on a mid-May date is a genuine win.

Want to stretch your Avios even further? British Airways is currently selling points at a 40% bonus for 1.64 cents per point - meaning you could top up cheaply if you're a few thousand short.

How to book: Search on the British Airways website using Avios. If you're in the UK, Smart With Points has a full breakdown of the best Avios earning credit cards to help you stack up points faster.

🏨 Featured Hotel Redemption: Hyatt House Anaheim at 8.5cpp

Hyatt House at Anaheim Resort / Convention Center - Anaheim, California

~15,000 World of Hyatt points per night - Value: approximately 8.5 cents per point

This is one of the strongest hotel redemptions I've seen in a while. At 8.5cpp, you're getting nearly nine times the typical base value of a Hyatt point. If you've got World of Hyatt points sitting idle, this is a very compelling use of them - especially with Hyatt's fifth night free benefit for award bookings of five nights or more.
