This Week's Deals Are Genuinely Worth Your Time
If you've been sitting on a stash of Avios waiting for the right moment, this week has some answers. London to Chicago in First Class for 68,000 points at off-peak pricing, solid Business Class availability across multiple US routes, and a handful of transfer bonuses that expire in the next 9 days. That last part matters - a lot.
I'll get to the full breakdown below, but the short version is: this is a busy week for deals departing from the UK, and the premium cabin availability on transatlantic routes is better than it's been in a while. Let's get into it.
Miles & Points Trivia
Before we dive in, let's see how well you know your sweet spots. Here's this week's question:
Which transfer bonus expiring before the end of April 2026 offers the HIGHEST percentage boost - and could supercharge one of this week's hotel deals?
A) Capital One Miles to JAL Mileage Bank - 30% bonus
B) Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG - 70% bonus
C) Chase Ultimate Rewards to Air Canada Aeroplan - 20% bonus
D) Choice to Air France KLM Flying Blue - 100% bonus

🚨 Deal of the Week: London to Chicago in First Class for 68,000 Points
This is the standout deal in today's newsletter and it's not particularly close.
Route: London (LHR) to Chicago (ORD) - First Class
Points required: 68,000 Avios one-way (off-peak pricing)
Available dates: May 6 (Wednesday) and May 8 (Friday) - availability is low, so move fast.
Availability: Low - this one won't hang around.
Why is this special? British Airways First Class to Chicago at the off-peak rate of 68,000 Avios is a legitimately great sweet spot. The standard peak rate is 80,000 points, so you're getting a meaningful discount just by picking midweek dates. British Airways First Class gets you a fully flat bed, four-course dining, and the full Club World service upgrade - on a route where cash fares in First routinely hit four figures.
The value calculation here is strong. A cash First Class fare on this route typically runs $4,000-$5,000 one-way, putting you well above 5 cents per point in value. That's exceptional by any measure.
Also worth noting: the Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG transfer bonus (70% through April 30) doesn't apply here, but if you're transferring Avios between Oneworld partners to top up, it's worth checking your balances across accounts first.
How to book: Search on the British Airways Executive Club website, select First Class, and check May 6 and May 8 for LHR-ORD. You'll need enough Avios plus taxes and fees (typically $200-$350 on this route).
✈️ Economy Deals: Departing from Europe (London)

💡 The Hong Kong economy deal is priced at off-peak rates (38,500 Avios) despite dates running into late May - that's a solid value if Asia is on your radar. Sometimes cash beats points on shorter European hops though - Friday Flight Deals regularly finds sub-$400 cash fares to the US if you want to compare.
